General classes
All classes at our yoga centre in Mooroolbark begin with a warm-up and gentle stretching. Next your experienced instructor will cover the basic yoga poses (asanas) involving a mix of sitting and standing postures, as well as different exercises that utilise stretches and twists. You can practise these types of poses at home. Throughout the class, your instructor will make any required corrections to your technique. Towards the end of the class Yoga & Holistic Healing has a relaxation and meditation session. Meditation is an ancient yogic tradition that brings about deep relaxation and a sense of well-being.
Prenatal yoga
Here at Yoga & Holistic Healing we have a range of yoga classes, with prenatal yoga becoming increasingly more popular. Yoga helps prepare you physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually for the journey ahead. Yoga helps reduce stress and tension, stretches and strengthens your body, and teaches you vital yoga breathing and relaxation techniques for pregnancy, labour and beyond, as well as minimising many of the discomforts of pregnancy such as nausea, varicose veins, swelling, back pain and sciatica.
